The Reviews That Make Me Want To Keep Playing

Every moderately successful band is an endless sacrifice of blood, sweat, and tears. At the end of our time together, we weren't just friends, we were brothers. Sometimes, though, you need some sort of external source to remain motivated. One means to this end is to solicit feedback from others in the form of youtube comments/reviews. Here, I will share with you my favorites:

But by far the funniest comments are always the thoughts on our various covers of "Tie Up My Hands" by Starsailor:

menmyteddy13: Have you ever even HEARD the song you attempted to cover?? Yikes. You need a new singer, but your back-up instrumentals were good.

That last comment is quite possibly my favorite review ever.

The Final Show

As with all great and amazing things that eventually succumb to an untimely end – zubaz, tamagotchi, fred-durst rap rock – so too must nixon.

We will be playing our last show together along with Leaving Neon and Escape Artists at Club Underground on Friday, Oct. 2.

“What?” you say. “Another last show? I thought you already did that back in 2007”

And you are correct. We did. But let me ask you this, did Michael Jordan end his career only once? No. He played baseball, magnificently. Did Brett Favre retire peacefully? No. No he didn’t. And in a long line those that came before us, we came back together so that we could have another last show…in 2009.

So all ye fans of all that is good and pure, come to the club underground next Friday and enjoy a night of good music and good friends…and watch a last show to rival all last shows…including the one we had two years ago.

Uptown Bar Show - Tue Sept 8th

nixon is reconvening for yet another awesome appearance on Tuesday Sept 8th at the Uptown Bar. The last time we played there, we were introduced to our good friends, milkbar. This time, we'll be playing with the Self-Sufficient Flying Machine and Jim O'Neill. Best of all, this show will be free!
